Effects are settings you can apply to instruments to change how they sound.

Effect List

Effect Details Applicable Beepmods
Panning The panning effect changes which side the instrument is heard from, ranging from left to right. This is better heard with headphones/earbuds/stereo sound system. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, SynthBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Transition Type This effect changes how the instrument behaves when transitioning between notes. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Chord Type This effect changes how the instrument behaves when multiple notes play simultaneously. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Pitch Shift The pitch shift effect plays the instrument's pitch higher or lower than the ones displayed on the pattern editor, without having to change the Song Key or move many notes. BeepBox, ModBox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Detune The detune effect customizes the instrument's pitch in cents (one hundredth of a semitone). BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Vibrato The vibrato effect determines whether/how the instrument's pitch slightly shifts over time. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Note Filter The note filter acts similar to the EQ filter, but is able to be modified dynamically using envelopes and comes before all effects are applied. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Distortion The distortion effect is an effect that applies a harsher tone to the instrument like that of an electric guitar. BeepBox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Bitcrusher The bitcrusher effect comes with two sliders; "Bit Crush" makes instruments sound harder/'lower quality', while "Freq Crush" applies frequency quantization. It may be more simple to think of these settings as how many steps the waveform of the instrument is limited to horizontally (freq crush) or vertically (bit crush). BeepBox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Chorus The chorus effect combines multiple copies of the instrument's sound with a slight vibrato in order to simulate an ensemble of instruments or voices. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Echo The echo effect repeats the instrument's sound after a delay. Each echo is a little bit quieter than the last. The "Echo" slider controls how much quiter each echo is, and the "Echo Delay" slider controls how much time passes between each delay. BeepBox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Reverb The reverb effect applies a continuous echo to the instrument. BeepBox, ModBox, Sandbox, JummBox, GoldBox, FoxBox, UltraBox, Midbox, Dogebox2, AbyssBox, Unbox, Slarmoo's Box
Note Range The note range effect controls the range in which an instrument can play notes in. Dogebox2
Invert Wave This effect is a singular checkbox that flips the instrument's waveform. This can allow for artifacts like noise cancellation, behind-the-ear/negative panning, and changing the reverb effect's behavior. Dogebox2
Ring Modulation This effect is made of two sliders and one dropdown. It works by multiplying the note's waveform with a wave (type selected with the aforementioned dropdown). AbyssBox
Phaser An effect that is made of 4 sliders, these sliders effect the phaser, frequency, feedback, and stages of the Phaser effect. AbyssBox

Effect Processing Order

Effects typically are one of two things:

The notion of an order only really makes sense between effects that share a category. Effects in the first category may not even have a simple and intuitive externally-observable order, so that will not be discussed here.

Unless noted otherwise, the order remains the same across mods.
